Nellie Made It Back In One Piece
She finally made it back, and got a good look at what happened--she's stunned speechless. When she went to go in, Dad volunteered to go first, just in case something had happened. It's okay, there's no damage.
A couple of trees fell in her back yard, though, but we already knew that. Nobody could get through the powerful lock on her fence to do anything about it until she got back, though. Her house has power, so that's good. Everything in her yard broke--except for the porch swing that her late husband build for her years ago.
Oh, and her grown daughter checked in, just to say that she had fallen on ice when it all started, and sprained her ankle. She was currently living in a church shelter until she manages to get her power back, and was checking on her fish once a day. Well, she was until they froze to death in their tank because of how low the temperatures went.
In related news, Paducah made NBC Nightly News from this whole mess again. They said that a grand total of 24 are dead in Kentucky.
ETA: In the hours before she got back home, the entire neighborhood was chipping in and getting rid of the limbs and other junk that were blocking her driveway. They avoided an area where the limbs started swinging in the wind, just in case they fell.
