Being Human

Just finished watching both the pilot episode of Being Human, and the first episode of the actual series. I think I like it. Thankfully, I prefer the recast of Annie to the pilot episode's actress.

I'm also glad that George wasn't recast, because the actor that plays him seems good from what I've seen of him so far.

Anyone know of any good groups dedicated to the show?

ETA: And I only just realized that Russell Tovey also played Midshipman Frame, thanks to checking IMDB.

There's [livejournal.com profile] beinghuman_fans and a separate [livejournal.com profile] beinghuman_fic group.

I'm a member of [livejournal.com profile] beinghuman_fans and it's pretty good. It has some affiliates listed on its profile that might be interesting to you. (There are a few fic communities, but I generally don't read BH fic.)

I just finished the first season this week and I loved it. :) I also prefer recast Annie to the orginal pilot version.

I was impressed by Being Human. Had I any power over the matter I would have made the series quite a bit darker than it was and there was one plot point I found horribly predictable and cliche, but overall it was very good and a bold move for the BBC. I think the cast made it work more than anything, though. They are very likeeable and watchable.

Well, I mod a newsletter called [livejournal.com profile] beinghuman_news, in which I try to round up all the various bits and bobs about the series for the day - it's a tiny fandom, though, and very quiet at the moment!

I was going to point you in the direction of [livejournal.com profile] jinxed_wood's comm, but she's beaten me to the punch. We're still a growing fandom, but I think growing fast!

I liked the mini-series, but was very upset that they recast Mitchell for the series. The new actor just doesn't do much for me. The original Mitchell was angsty about who he was (just a bit) with that touch of danger to him that I find so sexy. This new guy just doesn't have it.

I agree that the ghost needed to be recast. As for Russell Tovey, I'm not wild about him. After the first episode of the actual series I just lost interest...not sure if it was because of the recast or something else. I'm glad you're enjoying it, though.

I really enjoyed Being Human for the most part. They were terribly cliche in some of the plot points and I felt they kinda dropped the ball on the series finale after a pretty fantastic lead in episode, but as a whole it was very entertaining.
