Fannish Items of Interest

For those that want to see something strange, Io9 linked to a clip of a scene from It’s A Bird, It’s A Plane, It’s Superman. I believe I saw part of another scene from there once, when I watched a biography of Superman.

There’s going to be a live action Jetsons movie, and Io9 lists their choices for Judy Jetson. Does anyone remember the movie from 1990, with Tiffany as the voice of Judy Jetson?

Over at [profile] toon_memories, someone linked to Rainbow Brite and the Star Stealer, over on Youtube. And I have to link everyone to a hysterical review (detailing the horror of showing this movie to anyone over the age of 8) of it over at Bad Movies.

[profile] cabledeadpool links to the 70 Greatest Deadpool Moments.

Someone made a huge Back to the Future Clocktower wedding cake—looks to be set in 1955, going by the fact that Doc’s cable is connected to the clocktower. Most of it appears to be edible.

For the Stump The Author Meme, I owe [personal profile] seandc a drabble. Even if it’s late, consider it a birthday present. If anyone else wants to try stumping me to earn a drabble, go here.

I saw a tv production of It's a Bird [...] in the 70s. I remember little about the plot, except that near the end Superman's identity crisis is resolved by two kids named Jim and Jerry who walk up to him and tell him how great he is. This is just after he's chained himself to a weight and jumped off a bridge, and failed to kill himself: "I forgot - super lungs."

I remember the Jetsons movie! It's on Starz now. It's the one where they move to another factory, right? But I don't like their choices for live action, though. I don't know. They need someone that can pull off the ditzy blonde routine that's not Reese.

When I first saw the cake, my first thought was "1955" even before seeing any of the details like the shop signs or the wire-cable (even though I saw that before you did ;)). For me it was the grass since that little garden/park had been replaced by carparks in 1985.

I've seen that movie too many times... :D

Sooo... I wonder what the 1985 carpark and 2015 lake be made out of for more cakes like that? :D And would it be something you'd eat after getting it made up? ;) Just wonderin'

And thank you for impending birthday present :D
