RIP, John Hughes

John Hughes passed away today, at the age of 59. May he rest in peace. He was most famous for his teen movies like The Breakfast Club, Sixteen Candles, Pretty In Pink, and Ferris Bueller’s Day Off; I’m not a fan of that genre so I’ve never watched them. He suffered a heart attack while going for a walk in New York. This is just a bad year for the famous.

Going by IMDB, the only movies of his that I have ever seen were Home Alone and Home Alone 2: Lost In New York. Oh, and part of Weird Science—but I preferred the series, rather than the movie.

Wow...I've seen Ferris Bueller's Day Off, Home Alone 1 & 2, Uncle Buck, Planes, Trains and Automobiles (SO funny!), all the vacation movies with Chevy Chase, Beethoven, Dennis the Menace, Weird Science, and the Great Outdoors...all AMAZING movies! :o) I had no idea one guy was a part of all those great movies! So sad that he died so young...

Ack! I might be showing my age, but I've been a John Hughes fangirl since way back. I remember seeing Some Kind of Wonderful in the theatre in Japan when I was sixteen, over and over again, because I loved it so much. Ah, John, it's a sad loss.
