Back From The Vet

Okay, good news and bad news about the cat. The good news is that she seems to be a little bit better, in regards to her heart. The bad news? She's diabetic.

Apparently, it's not enough that she needs shots yet, so they want to try to control it with a special diet for now. The vet said that as long as she's acting like she's okay at home, then that's good. It's a good sign that she tried to slaughter everyone.

So long as she's not suffering or in any pain (she's not, and they could tell--in between her trying to jump back in the box) she doesn't need to be put to sleep. They also said not to worry about her yearly check-up, just come back in 2 weeks to see how she's doing then, too.

Oof! Diabetes isn't going to be much fun. Still, at least it's not too serious as yet. Glad she seems to be mostly okay.

Well, diabetes isn't as bad as what it could have been! It's very treatable... *HUGS* :o) I'm glad you figured something out...the hardest part, I think, is the not knowing.

I'm glad she's (mostly) okay. It's never easy when our furbabies are ill.

Treatable = good! Glad she's back to her usual feisty self!

As long as you'll can manage to snag her for the shot, you should be okay. I saw a few when I was working in the vet kennel. Probably see her every two weeks for next couple months to monitor. That's what happened when my mom's dog got diabetes several years ago. Kitty will adapt easily.

Best of luck to her - and to you!
