Cat Update
Yesterday, the cat was sluggish and just not acting like herself. Today, she was the same so Dad took her to the vet. Turns out it was the diabetes, so now she needs one shot a day. According to Dad, her glucose is supposed to be somewhere between 71-159. Her level? 553. She had a shot there--they taught Dad how to do it, so he could do it every day. However, on the good side, her weight is getting back to normal.
Before all this started, she was 10 lbs, 8 ounces. When she wasn’t eating due to the virus and everything else a week ago, she had fallen to 9 lbs, 6 ounces, and Mom thought she could feel the cat’s hip bones easier. This time, when they weighed her, she was 10 lbs, 1 ounce. She came home and just gave Dad the look of death.
A little while ago, she started eating some turkey, and pestering Mom for something better, so she’s acting mostly normal again. She’ll go back to the vet next Friday afternoon, so they can see how her glucose is. Heart-related, there’s still no sign of fluid in her lungs.
