A Couple Items of Interest

Guillermo Del Toro will no longer be directing The Hobbit. Io9 lists lists a few ideas for who might work instead.

For all those that have been having problems with LJ for the last few days, the reason is here. I had wondered why it was so bogged down, and thought others might want to know.

Also, you might want to run a virus check after visiting LJ for any length of time. For the last week, I’ve been getting tons of cookies and a few bits of Adware—my scanner’s managed to catch everything, but it’s only when I’m on LJ.

Fortunately I follow [livejournal.com profile] status, so I caught that message, but still miffed.

Yikes! I have NoScript, so hopefully that'll help, but otoh livejournal.com is on the whitelist, merely in order for LJ browsing to function. *gnaws fingernails* Ergh.

Oh, sad about Del Toro. And thanks for the LJ-related info, though yikes about the virus checking!

Yes on the last paragraph. I am now positive that my desktop got a virus because I opened an LJ page then forgot and went to do some work, allowing the malware (that impacted the computer no matter whether I'm on LJ on not --- or even the Internet in general) to sneak in before my anti-virus program got updated.

Oh, that is scary. I've never had a virus... how would I know if I had one?
