I already mentioned that a certain church is protesting ComicCon. My favorite part of this mess? The planning on how to deal with it. By the way--the preacher at my church? He’s a bit of a comic book nerd, and is obsessed with Star Wars--uses it in sermons a lot. Their heads might just explode from that little tidbit, and I would be delighted to witness it.

Ever wonder what would happen if you were dressed as a zombie and got into a car accident? Well, these people found out. Nobody was seriously injured, but people thought they were for a while.

...didn't Joaquin retire, though? I swear he retired to concentrate on...something - I refuse to believe his music career is the reason why.

At one point, I think so. I heard the same about a music career. There was this whole thing with a supposed mental breakdown--which they now claim was all for a reality show that didn't get off the ground, and he had cameras following him around during that whole time.

I think I recently heard he was out of retirement.

Wait, there was a mental breakdown to it, too? Man, ignore TMZ for a couple years and you miss everything. Sheesh. I wonder if the cameras were crew, or you know, the ever present press.

He went on Letterman in a hat and beard and just sat and stared--Letterman made a few uncomfortable jokes, ending with "I wish you could have been here tonight, Joaquin." Went to his little band thing and jumped off stage to tackle someone that was trying to heckle him. There's probably more.

Reportedly, the camera crews weren't recognized by the papparazi as anyone they had sent. I don't know for sure.

ETA: Okay, I was almost right. According to Wikipedia, Letterman said, "Joaquin, I'm sorry you couldn't be here tonight."
