Jennifer Lawrence has been cast as Mystique in X-Men: First Class. They also give a rundown of everyone else who has been cast. Kevin Bacon will be a villain—but not Magneto.
Here’s the latest news on the Steven Moffat version of Sherlock Holmes.
Seth Grahame-Smith has been hired to write the Dark Shadows movie.
16 Demented Green Lantern Stories We’re Sure Won’t Be In The Movie. The issue Hal went nuts (#49) was the first Green Lantern comic I ever read when it came out--I liked it a bit. Of course, that storyline is the only Green Lantern story I read—if you don’t count the whole Parallax revelation, or when he tried to redo the universe in Zero Hour or a couple other crossover events.
I have been asked what I want for my birthday next month, since Mom is tired of just giving me socks every year, for both my birthday and Christmas. As always, the answer is I have no idea, probably nothing.
Random note: For the last three or four days, the temperature has managed to hit 110 degrees Fahrenheit. It’s likely too hot to do anything like thinking. I have iced tea, and I’m staying near a fan.
And for three days, people were lined up for the grand opening of a second Chik-Fil-A near the mall. They camped out like Twilight fans with their I Heart Chik-Fil-A shirts and merchandise, lying on the pavement despite the heat. They finally staggered inside yesterday morning around 6 AM, nearly dead from the heat. A cameraman poked them a few times—they snapped out of their dazed state and cheered before shuffling away.

What about food? Like, dinner out to a nice restaurant or something? Or chocolates. Chocolate=good.
Or random fannish stuff--tickets to a movie, or a DVD, or books? A costume for RenFests or a con, should you ever plan to attend one.
A trip to the zoo! To an amusement park! To a show! Flowers! A guitar and lessons! Nifty t-shirts from thinkgeek.com! A passport (they last 10 years)!
I keep a wishlist on Amazon open for family and friends, full of random things I want but can't buy yet. And of course, there's the good old "gift card" stand-by...

To me, chocolate is one of the most disgusting things around--I'm just really, really strange like that. I can't stand anything sweet. My stomach has severe issues with it in general.
I've already bought the books I want. I only go see one movie a year in most cases, so the tickets are out--there's nothing I'm interested in seeing this year.

I don't even leave the state most of the time, so I wouldn't need the passport. I'm severely allergic to flowers. There aren't shows I would want to go see around here, since I think it's mostly really bad plays. Not musically inclined, so lessons would be wrong for me.
As you can see, I'm impossible to get anything for. *laughs*
I think I tried the Amazon wishlist thing once, but after a year went by and I hadn't added a single thing to it, I deleted it.

Only one brand of shoes I like, and I get those when they're needed through QVC. I never wear anything fancy, so that's off the table.
