Fannish Items of Interest

At Comic Con, a little kid asked Ryan Reynolds if he would recite the Green Lantern oath. And he did, in a great moment. He’s funny, and I’ve liked him since Two Guys, A Girl, And A Pizza Place. A show that few seem to remember.

Io9 has a web comic based on the geek protests. I love the “There are four lights” sign. If I had been at Comic Con, my sign would have said “Roads? Where we’re going we don’t need…roads.” That, or “If someone asks you if you’re a god, you say YES!”

Someone sitting behind the kid that was chosen to interact with Matt Smith at the Proms happened to have a camera. So now you can see a closer view of the whole thing, along with clearer sound--the echo interferes just a tiny bit, but it's fine.

I’ve seen mixed reviews of the new show Sherlock. Is it worth watching?

It's probably worth having a go and making up your own mind on it.

Love the geek protest signs!

I remember that show. It's where I first knew of Nathan Fillion as well :)

I totally remember two guys a girl and a pizza place and am irritated that it's never been put out on dvd! The first thing I saw Ryan Reynolds in was an X-files episode though lol

I loved Sherlock. Somehow it captures the spirit of the original but brings it into the modern era. There were quite a few in-jokes if you know the books.

The only downside is that twice during the plot, I figured something out way before Sherlock did. And one of them was the identity of the killer. (Not saying more to avoid spoilers, just that there was one fact SH seemed to be inexcusably dense about. But I'm willing to put that down to a new show still finding its stride. The characters are amazing.

Also, yay! Finally an asexual character on TV.
To bad he's also a sociopath...

That video of Matt Smith and the little boy... I think I died about a million times over from the cute.

I remember Two Guys, A Girl and a Pizza Place, though I only ever watched a few minutes of it, becuase David Ogden Stiers was in it.
