RIP, Maury Chaykin

Maury Chaykin passed away yesterday, on his 61st birthday. The cause of death isn’t being disclosed at this time, but he had been fighting kidney problems. MST3K fans might know him from Overdrawn at the Memory Bank. Mystery fans might know him from his role as Nero Wolfe in The Nero Wolfe Mysteries.

I mainly remember him as Major Fambrough in Dances With Wolves, since AMC shows that a lot. He was also in a couple episodes of Stargate SG-1 after I quit watching the show, and the first episode of Eureka.

May he rest in peace.

Saw him on "Due South," too, which probably means he was on a bazillion other 6 Degrees shows.

Oh, that's too bad. Whenever I see his name, I always think of his role as the prosecuting attorney in "Summersby", which I confess I did watch eons ago. He gave one of the three decent performances in that movie (none of which were the stars'). Interesting that he passed on his birthday.

At first I thought you were speaking of Howard Chaykin, and wondered, "What's he got to do with MST3K?"

My doctor looks like Maury Chaykin which, however much I need it, makes it ironic when he lectures me about losing wieght.
