One Fannish Item of Interest, Plus Meggan
6 Things Bryan Singer Just Revealed About X-Men: First Class. Basically, while it’s set in the 60’s, we won’t see the actual first class of X-Men.
I was thinking of changing the picture on Meggan’s page of the Wiki. That’s mostly because I stumbled across this as I was looking through various sites.
Also being considered are this one, (more of a smile than the one I used for the Wiki) or this one.
If I could find the exact screencap this originates from, it might be an option, too. I know it’s during Blink. I’ve hunted through various screencap sites, but I can’t find a match for it. It looks like it might be from the end of the episode, but I’m not sure. From what I can tell, the clothes aren't right for that.

And it looks like the main disadvantage of that one where she smiles a little more is the fact she still looks like she got stuck in a random shower without an umbrella.

Also, dudette, idea! Meggan has empathy powers, right? How would she react if, say, another empathic Morlock convinced Artie and a couple of the New Mutants that they were really still Morlocks and should come back down into the sewers with them?
Would she fight it or get sucked in?

Would she fight it or get sucked in?
Good question. She might be able to fight the suggestion for a minute or so before finally getting sucked in with the rest of them. Since while she is an empath and absolutely loathes having her head messed with, she's still very vulnerable to mental attacks.

(I'm thinking of doing a Morlock plot where Artie's old mother splits with what's left of the Morlocks and decides to take back the tunnels. And then she sees Artie and co and, at that point, it's kind of a case of taking a new generation to replace the one they lost in the morlock massacre. Only, she's an empath - hence why Artie can't remember almost aything of his early childhood - so when she's taking them back, she means it and they're going to believe and fight to protect their tunnels.)

With the shapeshifting aspect of the empathy, if she thought she was a monster because of that, then yes. She'd probably go more than a little furry in reaction to her feelings of being a monster. Webbed hands and feet, and maybe everything else she had back in the days she was in the cage.

That would definitely be interesting.
Long, long ago (shortly after being rescued) Meggan had a run-in with Manuel and bit him. At the time, she had extremely sharp, pointy teeth.
So if Meggan's influenced into thinking she's one of the Morlocks, and has always been, she might end up with those again and bite someone trying to drag them away from there, at the very least. She would do what she could to stay with what she thought was her family until someone snapped her out of it.

That's a shame but it makes sense. I might see if we can get Sera and thus Nico on board, so that they all look monsterous - comics artie was bald and pink and all... he just wasn't here. Hey, maybe I could run with that, have it take him a while to turn back.
She bit Manny? I think I love her now.
I can see her and Artie and maybe the others fighting to protect their new families. Hmm. I'll do a more coherent pitch to people over the next couple of days.

That would be interesting. More along the lines of a spell, rather than just an illusion, in that case. With it only wearing off a little bit at a time for him. Pink being the last to go, maybe?

Just went digging through the old logs to make sure I got the details right. It was because he seemed angry when talking to Amanda, and Meggan thought he might be hurting her since she didn't understand more than a handful of words in English yet.
That, and he didn't feel sincere when he was trying to talk down to Meggan. He tried to use his powers as a sort of introduction from one empath to another/calming her down. Not being out of the cage long, she was upset by that, and thinking he must be a bad person. She didn't like him. Hence a really good bite on the arm.
And she eventually understood not to do that again.

Yes! Although his hair is going to have to grow back, too. Oooh, I *need* do this to him, now.
That's brilliant but is playing on two of Meggan's issues fair? There's the cage thing and then the Selene thing. Let me know if you'd rather not do this?

Oh, I love the idea, there's no need to worry about that. She can deal with dredging up those old memories again--she has to talk about it at some point.
Here's a thought. While they think they're Morlocks, do you think the empathy might help with Meggan noticing something doesn't feel right somewhere in there about the whole situation? Like they're missing something or something's wrong. Only for Artie's mother to just reinforce the feelings again with her empathy so she wouldn't worry over it.
