Holiday Wish List Meme

Step One

* Make a post (public, friends locked, filtered...whatever you're comfortable with) to your LJ. The post should contain your list of 10 holiday wishes. The wishes can be anything at all, from simple and fandom-related ("I'd love a Snape/Hermione icon that's just for me") to medium ("I wish for _____ on DVD") to really big ("All I want for Christmas is a new car/computer/house/TV.") The important thing is, make sure these wishes are things you really, truly want.

* If you wish for real life things (not fics or icons), make sure you include some sort of contact info in your post, whether it's your address or just your email address where Santa (or one of his elves) could get in touch with you.

* Also, make sure you post some version of these guidelines in your LJ so that the holiday joy will spread.

Step Two

* Surf around your friendslist (or friends friends, or just random journals, or [community profile] holiday_wishes/[community profile] wish_list) to see who has posted their list. And now here's the important part:

If you see a wish you can grant, and it's in your heart to do so, make someone's wish come true. Sometimes someone's trash is another's treasure, and if you have a leather jacket you don't want or a gift certificate you won't use--or even know where you could get someone's dream purebred Basset Hound for free--do it.

You needn't spend money on these wishes unless you want to. The point isn't to put people out, it's to provide everyone a chance to be someone else's holiday elf--to spread the joy. Gifts can be made anonymously or not--it's your call.

1. Someone to find a movie by the name of Bonnie and Clyde vs. Dracula. Seriously, that movie is proving impossible for me to track down. I finally found Rosencrantz And Guildenstern Are Undead yesterday, so I’m hoping someone can stumble across a torrent of Bonnie and Clyde vs. Dracula. Here’s the trailer for Bonnie and Clyde vs. Dracula. And for the curious, here’s the trailer for Rosencrantz And Guildenstern Are Undead. It’s just as strange as you’d think.

2. A better year and better health for those on my friends list than the last year or two.

3. Give a donation to Rifftrax. I went to Rifftrax Live: House on Haunted Hill a couple days before Halloween, and I know how great they are. There’s no way I could ever afford to donate anything to them. Barring that, donate to a charity that really needs it.

4. An icon of any particular fandom I’m interested in, with my username on it. Fandoms I like or have liked in the past include: Back to the Future, Doctor Who, Dark Shadows, Merlin, Pushing Daisies, Buffy, Angel, Firefly, Ghostbusters, Highlander: The Series, Justice League International, Sherlock Holmes, New Mutants/Excalibur/X-Men, and Xena.

5. A new layout/header, involving Martha Jones, the Eighth Doctor, the Ninth Doctor, the Tenth Doctor, Donna Noble, or Jack Harkness. Either that fandom, or Highlander: The Series, Dark Shadows, or Merlin. I’m just in the mood to change my layout, since I’ve used my current one for quite a few years now. Probably something with a similar coloring.

6. Paid time—or just extra icons—for the only RPG character I currently have. Or just give the gift of paid time or a virtual gift for others out there in RPG’s that might want it.

7. Give blood. I can’t, but blood transfusions have saved my life more than once in the past and most likely would save someone else’s.

8. More people to write fanfic based on The Librarian series of movies. I have never seen a single fanfic in this fandom, and it needs to be written.

9. I can't think of anything for #9 or #10.

1. I don't know if I'll ever run across that, but you have widened my horizons just by letting me know it exists.

7. This is within my power, and I'll do it faithfully. Well, I'll keep on doing it, but I'll think in your direction during the process. Seriously, though, thanks for encouraging people to do this; I'm O-, and it's a little scary just how scanty the reserves are.

2.0?? O_O I chronically run low, and they once freaked out a bit when I clocked in a seven-something. 2.0 is almost unimaginable, so I bet the nurse did remember (and will go on remembering).

A+ is universal acceptor, right?

Whoops, we were both wrong. It's AB+ that's universal acceptor; she might've been thinking of O- (u. donor).

If I can ever get some free time (zomg, first year teaching is EXHAUSTING), I will do what I can for #8, because there totes needs to be some Librarian fic. I did put it as one of my Yuletide requests, so if I get some, I will share!

If I ever see a place to give blood, I will do so immediately.
