Comment Notifications

If anyone is still having problems with LJ notifications not being sent, this is the reason why, according to the latest [livejournal.com profile] news post. I haven’t received any notifications for a while, since this whole thing started. However, yesterday I did receive one from last Wednesday, and one from the day before yesterday. I use Yahoo. So I have a question for those on my friends list. If I switch the [livejournal.com profile] x_meggan journal to having notifications sent to my Gmail address—since I have Gmail set to forward everything to my main Yahoo account, would it forward the notifications? Or would they still not arrive since they have to do with LJ, which Yahoo dislikes right now? Has anyone else attempted this?

If they still wouldn't arrive, I'll just do what I've been doing for threads. Refresh every few minutes or so for ongoing discussions, or check back periodically.

Given how many notifications I’m currently owed, I almost dread when they all start pouring in.

I changed mine to my gmail last night, and it's forwarding the notifications to my yahoo fine. I'm still getting old ones trickling in, too, but it seems random.

I'm getting notifications for most comments. It seems a bit like the notifications that aren't coming through are those from people who, like my fic journal, have been getting/in the past received spam.

I also use Yahoo. All I know is that I'm one of the rare ones that hasn't received any of the Russian spam. Or whatever other varieties people have been getting hit by, like the one for ebooks. Seen it in various other journals, but not mine yet. I've been waiting for it.

I am pleased to see, however, that since I switched it to Gmail the notification of your comments came through without a delay.

Well, this just came through to my Yahoo e-mail at 3:52 p.m on 3/19/2011, four days after the fact. Maybe the fact that Gmail is constantly on the https mode while you're logged in while Yahoo is only in https mode while you're inputting your password information has something to do with it.
