Oh, can't argue with that! The creepiness is why I like him! Really, I don't get the whole "nobility" thing that article was talking about at all. He's a steely, creepy, intense, Aryan motherfucker.

Sometimes I forget that Perrineau was also in drag as an ecstasy-dispensing Mercutio in R+J.

It might have to do with Neal's unwilling to bend his morality to gain a part. He's refused roles - or walked out in the middle of filming - before because it involved being intimate with another woman, like on screen sex scenes, and it tends to bleed into whatever he's doing. Even when he was playing the villain in Walking Tall, you saw how he warped the creepiness into an almost benevolence in providing things for a dying town.
