Some Personal Drama
We are, unfortunately, due for 10 inches of snow either Monday or Tuesday. Possibly along with an ice storm. Meanwhile, the time has come to get my sister to the hospital for a feeding tube. Something I forgot to mention with everything going on with Nellie—she now has a bacterial infection that appears to be eating the flesh off her face, on both sides. From the tip of her chin, to just below her ears. If anyone has seen clips from Eli Roth’s Cabin Fever (by accident on my part)…it looks a bit like that, spreading each night due to the stuff coming out. (Sorry, I’m trying to keep the gory details to a minimum there.)
Because of her being unable (and argumentative on all occasions, unwilling to eat on many—-the Loritab they put her on for the pain makes her so much worse) to eat, the infectious disease specialist finally said to just put her into the hospital. Besides, her blood work indicates severe anemia and malnutrition, which obviously would not help to halt the spread of whatever that is. Oh, and various biopsies have never revealed exactly what the mess is. There’s also peripheral edema that won’t go away, but that’s a side effect of the malnutrition.
Having looked up both MRSA and Infantigo, (or Impetigo, says Wikipedia—someone thought it might be that for a while) I don’t really think it’s either of those.
I’m posting all this outside a locked post—-because when the Yuletide presents are revealed, if I’m late on commenting to say thank you for whatever I get from the person assigned me, I’m sorry. There's a lot going on. I’ll get to it when I can.
