Nashville Flooding

Sending my best wishes to anyone currently dealing with flooding (or its clean-up) in Nashville, or in any other area getting heavy rain and flooding right now. A few of the roads affected within the Nashville area look to be in the general area of streets/hotels that I ended up staying at as everyone travelled back and forth between places from March through May.

We didn’t get nearly as much rain dumped on us here—just a little over an inch in a few hours, whereas they seem to have received over five inches in the same span of time. (However, this is how yesterday looked a few minutes before I headed out to the dentist—doesn’t that first image look strangely like a Quickening?)

I work in Nashville and drive in via I24 East to Briley Parkway. There were waterfalls running off the rock walls between Old Hickory and Briley. Since I go in very early I just missed most of the flooding at the interchange. I did hit some standing water as I came off the ramp into what would be a small lake in less than a hour more. There was also standing water in front of Opry Mills. We had several people call out due to Briley being closed for a while for the flooding. But when I headed home at all of the water on the road had receded, but there was still a pond across the road from the KOA just before the Duke-Fuqua Bridge.
