Nominations Are Officially Open For Yuletide

Yuletide nominations are open as of today. Nominations close on October 3rd. My nominations are Bride of Boogedy (1987), Dark Shadows (1991), and Fright Night (1985). Yes, I’m finally following through on the Boogedy nomination (even if I wonder if anyone else participating in Yuletide this year has heard of it, or would want anything from it) that I’ve wanted to do since at least 2010.

I didn’t have room for Murder By Death (1976), unfortunately. So if anyone out there has an extra slot available, please consider nominating it.

(Sadly, I don't have a Murder By Death icon, but I do have one for Clue.)

Bride of Boogedy was a tv movie made as part of the Wonderful World of Disney slate of tv movies that they aired back in the 80's. It's really a kid's movie that is massively cheesy, with horror elements from the days before Disney backed off that sort of thing. Mr. Boogedy (1986)(starring Kristy Swanson as Jennifer Davis) was the first, and Bride of Boogedy (starring Eugene Levy, but no longer Kristy Swanson; Vincent Schiavelli is there, too) was the longer sequel.

Boogedy's face (like a kid's movie version of Freddy Krueger) is really only disturbing if you're 4. (Which I was at the time.) Neither movie are available on VHS or DVD or Blu-Ray, but in 2013 FearNet aired them both for Halloween. What's Yuletide?

It's a ficathon for fandoms that have very few stories--people get their assignments around the start of November, and stories are due before Christmas.
