Torn Between Fandom Nominations

Since I just opted to rewatch House of Dark Shadows (1970), I now have yet another possible fandom that I want to see get a Yuletide nomination. For someone that may not have the time to rewatch all the episodes from the original series, it’s a good alternative universe.

So now I’m torn between what won the poll—Suspiria—and House of Dark Shadows. Whichever I choose, the other will be nominated next year. Either way, it’s a horror related fandom that gets the slot, so there’s that.

Tough call! I chose Suspiria because I've seen it and it's terrifying in all the best ways. I really need to just borrow a bunch of Dario Argento films from the library.

Oh, I agree, and I loved it. Last year, I ended up watching almost all (I skipped his version of Phantom of the Opera--but not the one called Opera--and at least one other) of Argento's films after finally seeing it, followed by watching as many giallo and Mario Bava films that I could track down right then.

I think I'm going with Suspiria being a movie I will definitely nominate for next year's Yuletide. For this year, I'll be going with House of Dark Shadows.

Waiting until next year's Yuletide will give me time to at least see the two follow-up films to Suspiria! House of Dark Shadows is a good film also, though I haven't seen it nearly so recently.
