calliopes_pen | Angel 5x21 "Power Play"

This was a great episode.

What I liked:

-The Senator is a demon who clawed it's way out of hell and was put into a human body. Makes perfect sense.

-The Devil playing racquetball with Angel. Although it seemed weird to me, but made sense by the end.

-When Illyria says something about intercourse with Wesley, I was stunned, and apparently Spike was too. She just meant speaking with him, though.

-When they showed the flashback to when Angel kissed Cordelia, everything that happened after made perfect sense. I have one question, though. Won't the visions eventually drive him insane, like in the alternate reality that Cordelia saw in "Birthday"? Unless you're mostly a demon you can't handle the visions, IIRC.

-Illyria playing video games with the Keeper of the Well. Maybe they were almost friends.

-The scene at the end when the rest of the team fight Angel, and he casts a spell to make it seem like they are still fighting while, in reality they have a conference. That was great.

-Did Angel kill Drogyn or was it just a nameless sacrifice?

What I didn't like:

-The fight between Hamilton and Illyria. She needs her powers back. Did he crush her face? Ewww.

-Nina has no chemistry with Angel.

My rating: 9.8/10

I'm really going to miss this show.
