Update...

I'm better today. Apparently, though, my body can't handle the pain medication. It made me dizzy and then throw up. I don't see how people can get addicted to this stuff--it's horrible.

Since I can't take the pain medication, I'm supposed to just take an Ibuprofen if I start hurting. For the next week, I also have to take Penicillen, so I don't get an infection where the teeth were pulled.

In other news, I've altered the background of my [profile] strega_willow journal. Does anyone know how to change the updates so you can still see the background?

Did they give you hydrocodone? That seems to be the rage these days. Sadly, for me and sounds like you too, those of us with low acetaminophen tolerances are doomed for dizziness and nausea. *sigh* Oh, for the good old days of morphine without malpractice suits.

Ugh. That stuff is evil. I have bottles full of it that I never used. Would rather be in pain.

Hope you feel good as new soon. :)

Bummer about the pain med reaction. I know how you feel. When I had my wisdom teeth out (all four at once) I ended up being allergic to the codien that they gave me for pain. Unfortunately, it was paired with phenegrin (an anti-nausia medicine), so I didn't find out I was allergic to it until I ran out of phenegrin. Then I was in major stomache pain (with vomiting) and my mom had to take me to the ER. There they gave me demerol with phenegrin. Even though I wasn't allergic to the demerol, I didn't care for it. It made me feel tired and anxious at the same time. I don't get how people get addicted to these pain meds either.

Anyway, I hope you're feeling better. *hugs*

And they had to *cut* my wisdome teeth out too! (Because my mouth was too small, they wouldn't grow in and were stuck under the gum line.) So that might account for the added pain. Although it's funny, I don't remember the tooth pain much. I think the allergic reaction overshadowed it. ^_^

I wasn't awake for the cutting, BTW. It was dental surgery, so I was put under with some kind of shot. It was very weird going to sleep in the dentist chair, and then waking up in the next room on a cot.
