Answering Question Memes, And A Few Links

For those that are interested, over on Insanejournal there’s a group that is currently accepting nominations for the best characterizations in both Marvel and DC related RPG’s. Links about it can be found over here.

The 20 Greatest Moments In Doctor Who History

And also from Fandomania: The Top 4’s of Doctor Who Season 4. Includes top 4 scariest moments, most heart-wrenching, most triumphant, biggest surprises, best lines from Donna, and quite a few short lists.

And behind the next few LJ cuts, I’ll be answering some question memes.

1. Leave me a comment saying, "Interview me!"
2. I will respond by asking you five questions. I get to pick the questions.
3. You will post the answers to the questions (and the questions themselves) on your blog or journal.
4. You will include this explanation and an offer to interview someone else in the same post.
5. When others comment asking to be interviewed, you will ask them five questions. And thus the endless cycle of the meme goes on and on and on and on...

Questions from [personal profile] thecutepolice.

1. What fictional character do you most relate to and why?

It actually varies from fandom to fandom. If the character is interesting and well-written, I’ll probably like them. I believe it was Willow in the Buffyverse, since I’m a big geek, too.

2. Do you have a "type"? If so, what is it?

Apparently, it’s the geeky and slightly sarcastic type, going by the characters I tend to veer towards on different shows. Wash, Willow, Methos…

3. If you had to choose 1 fandom and eschew all others for the rest of your life, which would you choose?

This is a tough one, but I have to say Doctor Who. It’s been around long enough that I could keep finding new and interesting things in it for a long time to come.

4. What is your most vivid childhood memory?

I’m someone that can remember as far back as maybe 6 months old (Mom confirmed it when I asked about a couple of things I remembered) so that’s a tough one. Maybe when everyone in my family went to Louisiana when I was barely 4. On the way there, I almost lost a finger in a cupboard (it got trapped when Dad accidentally shut it as he walked by—there were a couple of screams, as it was very close to being cut off). While there, I was extremely sick, and couldn’t stop throwing up for the entire week, so I was in the bedroom the entire time. On the way back, for some odd reason we stopped at church for church pictures, before getting home. Mom doesn’t know why, but we have a great picture of me barely standing, while everyone else accidentally looked in different directions as the camera flashed.

It eventually turned out that it was an ear infection in both ears that was bad. A doctor gave me a shot to stop the nausea so I could eat (therefore avoiding hospitalization or an IV) some soup and sleep. After that, I felt fine. As mentioned a while back, some of the medicine from back then was found in the old fridge when we finally got rid of it.

5. What is your favorite word? Why?

I don’t think I’ve ever had a favorite word.

Answering [personal profile] persiflage_1--what she associates with me.

Highlander. This would have to be one of the few fandoms that I tend to stick with, no matter how long it’s been since it was on the air last. I’ve been in the fandom since the final episode of season 5 (Archangel) aired, and I may be one of the few people that loves that episode, even if the way it was resolved in season 6 was horrible. That’s the episode that hooked me, though, and that’s when I first started reading fanfic.

Role-playing Been pretty much hooked on this one since I was very briefly able to play Willow Rosenberg in a game that died a quick death. Checking…okay, so that would be August of 2004, according to the second entry in my [profile] strega_willow journal. The game died right after I posted my entry there.

Doctor Who. I’ve only been in the fandom since the second episode of season 1 aired on the Sci-Fi Channel, so it’s nice that it’s associated with me. Like Highlander, this might be one of the fandoms that I’ll stick with, if at all possible.

Polls. I actually expected this to be one of the things. I just like posting polls.

Bad Weather. Understandable, given the insanity that's gone on around here. Mom jokingly said we need to move somewhere that doesn't have tornadoes, hurricanes, earthquakes, ice storms, wind storms, snow storms, fires, floods, extreme amounts of heat during the summer, or anything wild that wasn't in that list already. Dad added volcanoes to the list. We've decided there's no such place.

Answering [profile] papilio_luna--what’s associated with me.

Fannish items of interest. I happen to enjoy compiling links, and sharing them. Can’t think of anything else to say regarding that.

Ice and tree limbs. Hopefully, the ice won’t be as much after everything we just had. The tree limbs shouldn’t be as much of a problem, since the trees in our yard are long gone—unless a random branch flies by, like happened with the wind.

Fic I was just hooked on RPG’s for a long time, and somehow it branched out into fanfic. Then, I was hooked on both.
