Computer Problem

Does anyone know what it means when everything on the computer's screen goes all wavy and shaking and blurry? Does it sound like the problem is the monitor or something else?

It did that for a few hours this morning, but for right this moment it's okay. I'm posting in between the computer's freak outs.

It's a monitor problem -- the tube is goine. It will last for a little while longer (a week or so), but the only recourse is to replace it.

She shoudld probably have the computer checked out just in case. It could just be something wonky or what not. Or so says the man who just fixed my computer...when the monitor was flashing on and off. In my case my video card fan was fried.

I know if you have a fan close to your monitor it does that too. I had one at work and it was all messed up when it was on.

According to Brainiac...um Mike.
It could be anything.
Depends on how often it happens. Could be some weird interference.

It's probably either the monitor dying or your video card overheating. Both can cause freaky visual artefacts...

Mine was doing the "wax on, wax off" - where it was blinking on and off.
First my bf restored my comp to make sure something didn't do something accidently to mess up the settings. Then he broke down to actually look at the silly inside. Stupid fan on the video card had been killed by cat fur.

It could either be the monitor or the video card.

I'd say switch out the monitor with a different just to see if it still does the same thing. If it does then it may be the video card.

You can never tell with computers though so if those two don't fix it, I don't know what the problem could be.

When mine did that just a few weeks ago it was definetly the monitor.

Mine did it off an on for several weeks before it caught fire. Heh.

So , uh...don't leave it on when you're not home.
