The Little Mermaid Won The Poll
Because the RPG character poll was pretty much stuck in a tie, I opened the same poll over on IJ. I then added the number of votes for each character over there, to the poll over here. Meaning an extra 2 votes for The Little Mermaid, 2 for Sherlock Holmes, 1 for Briar Rose, and 1 for Snow White. So the results will now look like this: Amalthea: 3 votes; Briar Rose: 5 votes; Sherlock Holmes: 4 votes; Snow White: 2 votes. And The Little Mermaid wins the poll with a total of 6 votes.
Eventually, I’ll apply as The Little Mermaid—to that effect, Hollow Art’s forums gave me some great suggestions for a PB for The Little Mermaid, and now I’ve started another poll. Links to icons of each person can be found in the poll as well.

Usually when I pick a PB, I'm really picky about matching the personality to the face. So I guess it depends on what exactly you were going with for the Little Mermaid? If she's more like Disney's Ariel I'd probably go with Rachel or Renee, but if it's something a little closer to the original tale and thus she's a little wilder I'd go with Rachelle.

From what I could tell of their version without having access to a profile or any other thread, she just never got her voice back after drinking the potion, and didn't die at the end--somehow became a mermaid again, apparently without killing the prince.
The personality looked like it might be a mix of the Disney and original version. (I've seen versions where she had a potion, and versions where her tongue was ripped out.) If I were allowed to do it my way, it would probably lean more toward the original version, maybe having her kill the prince, but finding she gets a voice back, but not a tail after all, in a cruel twist of fate.

Yes, it definitely helped.
