Firefox Questions

According to CBS, we have a tornado watch until 4 PM. Last night, we had thunderstorms, which included wind that (according to the local news a few minutes ago) went as fast as 68 mph.

There’s a certain torrent site I’m on (not naming it, since I don’t want to lock this) where you need Firefox to see some of the pages. I use IE 7, and everything’s been fine with that. Other than being able to see those pages, is Firefox worth it? And if I don’t like it for some reason, would it be relatively easy to switch back to IE? Dad mentioned you get a lot of extra junk on the page with Firefox, and that’s all he knows--would you be able to get rid of it, so the taskbar looks like IE would?

Meaning buttons relatively the same, and able to customize the command bar to get rid of everything I don’t need. I know that IE can do it, but I know nothing about Firefox. Except for the fact they have tabs.

ETA: Thank you, everyone! I've just installed it, and so far things seem to be going fine with it. I'm primarily using IE, with Firefox only when I really need it.

I will also tell you that Firefox is sooooo much safer to browse with than IE. Everyone I know uses Firefox. I use it. I love it much more than anything else. The only 'extra' stuff I have is the stuff I manually added: The little tiny bubble in the bottom right corner for scriptblocker, the extra options that come up when you right click for RemoveItPermanently. The browser itself just has an extra bar under the normal one for quick links, and the google browser thing at the end. All in all I find it much easier to use and much less crowded than IE.
