For anyone out there that might be interested in helping out a good cause: qldfloodauction has been set up—through auctions for icons and fanfic, they are trying to raise money for those in Australia dealing with the massive flooding. Bidding for items closes on the 26th at 11:59 PM.

ETA: And somehow, I left out that I was putting myself up on the auction block. My thread is here, and bidding starts at $1. I am offering one fanfic of at least 1000 words in one of the following fandoms: Doctor Who, The Addams Family, Shrek, Back to the Future, Ghostbusters, or Dark Shadows.

We’re getting 50 mph winds here, so I’m posting this in between it knocking out the internet. It’s reportedly going to be finished somewhere around 3 or 4 PM. It's caused the power to flicker here, and the lady that owns the used bookstore says it went out completely at her house, and caused a wreck nearby--at least, judging by the four ambulances and police car she spotted.

According to CBS, we have a tornado watch until 4 PM. Last night, we had thunderstorms, which included wind that (according to the local news a few minutes ago) went as fast as 68 mph.

There’s a certain torrent site I’m on (not naming it, since I don’t want to lock this) where you need Firefox to see some of the pages. I use IE 7, and everything’s been fine with that. Other than being able to see those pages, is Firefox worth it? And if I don’t like it for some reason, would it be relatively easy to switch back to IE? Dad mentioned you get a lot of extra junk on the page with Firefox, and that’s all he knows--would you be able to get rid of it, so the taskbar looks like IE would?

Meaning buttons relatively the same, and able to customize the command bar to get rid of everything I don’t need. I know that IE can do it, but I know nothing about Firefox. Except for the fact they have tabs.

ETA: Thank you, everyone! I've just installed it, and so far things seem to be going fine with it. I'm primarily using IE, with Firefox only when I really need it.
