Doctor Who: The Time of Angels Review

-I loved this episode. Didn’t help (or maybe it did—great way to set the mood) that we were having tornado warnings, crashing thunder, and lightning during the whole time I watched it. The tornado warnings ended right as I started watching the download. Thanks for the crashing thunder with every single appearance of the Weeping Angels or whenever anything happened to people, Mother Nature. It made things interesting. Not good for anyone’s heart, I’d imagine, but interesting.

-Did I hear right, or did they say that marrying yourself was outlawed in the 51st century? If I heard right, I just kept picturing Jack trying and being the cause of that law being made.

-I loved the trap speech at the end, even if my download had a slight problem with a promo for Over The Rainbow going right over the Doctor’s face as he said it.

-I actually like River Song a little bit now—I couldn’t stand her before. However, I’m trying to figure out who she might be. A Time Lord escaped from the Time Lock again? I really can’t think of anyone that works, since I doubt she’s The Rani, Romana, or the Master after a sex change.

-I’m starting to like Amy, especially after the Mr. Grumpyface comment. For a moment, when the Doctor bit her hand, I thought he licked it. Glad to see I was wrong.

-Love that the Doctor’s accidentally had the brake on in the TARDIS for oh…900 years plus or so? Well, he did fail his driver’s test, so that could explain it. I liked the strange noise he made to describe it. I really don’t want the TARDIS to drive without sound after this, because I loved that noise.

-I remember back when Blink aired, and people were trying to figure out ways to blink with only one eye. I was thrilled to see Amy do that. One eye at a time.

-If everything that contains the image of a Weeping Angel now becomes a Weeping Angel...well, now. Everyone that owns season 3 on DVD? You’re doomed. Everyone that downloaded this episode—including me--is doomed. *laughs* Anyone with a Weeping Angel icon is doomed. Come to think of it, Sally Sparrow might be doomed, because she took pictures of them.

I would be disappointed if River IS a Time Lord. I'd rather she's just a human being who happens to be clever, smart, sassy, and capable. Then again, I'm a big fan of River Song.

That bit with Graham Norton caused HUGE outrage - lots of people have complained to the Beeb about it...

The 'self-marriage' thing I believe was in reference to the aliens they were talking about, who had two heads, presumably with different personalities. At some point they outlawed self-marriage (maybe the population was dwindling because they still needed two people to mate).

That wasn't a problem with your download, that was a problem with the fricking idiots at the BBC *waves hand grumpily*

I loved the episdoe so much. Hopefully next weeks is just as good :) And personally, I hope River's human, and not a Time Lord. Being a Time Lord takes the fun out of her character a bit.
