Fannish Items of Interest
X-Men: First Class has cast their Professor Xavier. It’s James McAvoy. I don’t believe I’ve ever seen him in anything, so I don’t know if that would work—even if he shaved his head.
Michael Bay is producing the next Ninja Turtles movie.
Mark Hamill is retiring from voicing the Joker.
Drew Pearce is reportedly going to co-write the movie version of Runaways. Any ideas for who would work for Gert? Maybe Tina Majorino?
SoapNet is going off the air in January 2012.
And now, a meme, taken from

Check my fandoms, my favorite characters, the pairings I like the most, my kinks, my fictional crushes, anything. Now, in a friendly and possibly teasing way, point out the obvious and not so obvious trends or fetishes you see in my tastes. Maybe I'm nuts for all vampire stories, or have a thing for men who smoke, or I'm fond for the tsundere archetype, or I'm into rival slash. Let's point out all of those you've noticed I tend to squee about during our friendship.

The accent might work - he is a very British actor, I gather - but from the one role of his that I have seen through from beginning to end (he was basically playing a redshirt role in one episode of "Band of Brothers" - which, yes, means he had an American accent), I think he's too *pretty* to play the young Professor X, shaven head or no. Patrick Stewart rather defined the role for me, so I may be biased in that respect, however.

Checking IMDB, though, I see that McAvoy was in the first Narnia movie. I watched about 30 minutes of that on Encore one day, so I probably saw him somewhere in there.

...this is one of those things that could be either really awesome or really, really crap. Personally, I am a bit fearful.
