Fannish Items of Interest

For anyone that missed it in my last post, I am offering a fanfic of at least 1000 words to the highest bidder over at [profile] qldfloodauction. If you’re interested, please go here. You can find the fandoms I’m willing to do there, and if you have any questions about what I’ll write, feel free to ask. The mods explain international donating here.

A first look at Andrew Garfield in the Spider-Man costume has been released. It’s not that bad.

Then, there’s the proper first look at Chris Evans as Captain America.

Syfy is now looking to remake another British show: Randall and Hopkirk (Deceased). Jane Espenson and Drew Z. Greenberg are writing the pilot. [profile] whedonesque discusses the news here.

Lauren Ambrose has joined the cast of Torchwood, as a character named Jilly Kitzinger.

Re #3: oh *no*. I mean, I enjoyed the absurdity of the recent British version of R&H(D), but I can't imagine how Syfy will bodge it about to make it one of their "originals". I'm already facepalming about "Being Human".

Yeah I was gonna say, wasn't Randall and Hopkirk, Deceased just remade in Britain? I never saw the remake but I saw some of the original. It played in the US as My Partner the Ghost. All I really remember though is one sequence when Hopkirk (Marty?) kept popping back and forth from the office to the highway where he was tracking a bad guy's progress on the road.

Well, "just" in the sense that it's about ten years old (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Randall_%26_Hopkirk_(Deceased)), if we're thinking of the same show.
