Fannish Items of Interest, Plus Memes
Syfy changed its mind, and now Eureka is canceled. The six episodes order from before has been removed. They will air the remaining episodes, and that’s it.
BBC America is going to air three Doctor Who specials, leading up to its return in late August.
Celebrating 30 Years of Alan Davis. I spotted at least one error in the article, although there may be more. At one point, they accidentally refer to Captain Britain as Captain American.
I am having the weirdest problem. For some reason, I just can’t get to
x_logs. While I can see the posts via
xp_friends, when I try to get to it I can’t—nor can I even see the user info page for that one. LJ is currently not reporting any site-wide issues. It’s probably just a problem with a particular cluster for certain people. If it were a Spyware Doctor issue blocking it, it would be affecting more than just that.
ETA: And suddenly it works again, the moment I post about it. Thank you for going away, strange issue!
Answering the icon meme for
deathpixie:

This one is just an icon of Gabrielle, from the episode where she and Xena were crucified. It’s hard to find good Gabrielle icons, and I liked that one.

Methos, in his alias of Doc Adams.

That’s Methos again, preparing to shoot Duncan in the back to keep him from a fight he didn’t want to win.

Batman got himself handcuffed, presumably by Selina. I don’t know where the image is originally from.

Merlin wanting to keep his magic a secret.

For a while, this was the only Meggan related icon that I could find anywhere. It’s just her, walking in on Kurt with a cup of cocoa for him, baffled by the fact he doesn’t want her seeing him naked in the bath. He hides under the bubble bath and accepts the cocoa with his tail in the next panel.

I like this one. It’s the Eye Patch Lady from Doctor Who. I’ll leave it at that, for anyone out there that may not have seen A Good Man Goes To War just yet.
Answering the icon meme for
writteninsable:

Useful for if someone in the Batclan does something wrong. I believe this was Cassandra and Bruce, although I can’t pinpoint the issue it came from.

One of the Adipose, shortly after popping out of a woman in the bathroom, in an episode of Doctor Who. I just thought it was cute.

I answered that one for
deathpixie.

From The End of Time Part 1, when the Doctor is trying to figure out what the plan is. It’s one of my favorite icons.

I am a bookaholic, and that’s pretty much my only reason for having it.

That’s Kurt getting an unexpected armful of Meggan, when he manages to pay her and Brian a visit.

Sherlock at the end of the first episode of the UK series. Rather useful icon for weirder moments in life.

This might just be the icon I’ve had for the longest, since around 2004. That’s Numfar, doing the dance of joy.

Haven’t used this one in a long time. It’s Alfred letting Tim Drake know that Batman is always listening in on them.

Useful for insane and/or horrible days. It’s from a team-up between Johnny Storm and Spider-Man, which ended with the former accidentally losing his pants while in a pool. Hence his scream.

From MST3K, possibly from The Giant Spider Invasion.

Life on Mars, an episode where everyone was puppets. Uploaded it during my brief interest in the series, thought it worked for more surreal posts.

One of my favorite icons. Comes from an episode of Merlin, where Arthur is trying to work out how you cook chicken.

I’ve explained this one before, for
writteninsable.
And this meme has resurfaced. In light of what Meggan got up to yesterday, there are bound to be some very oddly funny ones.
Give me one of your characters and one of mine, and I will give you their top three Texts From Last Night!

2. Do you realize that I tried to rent a limo at 5am to come and take me to waffle house? The phone was a banana, and they didn't send it.
3. Can you sing with all the voices of the mountain? Can you paint with all the colors of the windddd. Pocahontas is here!
At which point, I assume Kevin would begin to wonder just what happened to her mind.
