Fannish Items of Interest
Jan Berenstain—half of the couple that wrote The Berenstain Bears—passed away over the weekend, at the age of 88, after suffering a stroke. May she rest in peace. I enjoyed those books when I was little.
Marion Mathie passed away on January 20th at the age of 86. May she rest in peace.

CBS has their Watson for Elementary—it’s Lucy Liu! Seeing as I’ve never really been a fan of hers, and I don’t like Jonny Lee Miller, there’s a high probability that I will be sitting this one out. Some sites were saying this was the first time Watson’s been a woman—it isn’t. There were two tv movies. The Return of Sherlock Holmes and Sherlock Holmes Returns: 1994 Baker Street. Both of which had Holmes needing to be defrosted in the present day. And, maybe, They Might Be Giants could count, even if it was just a coincidence that her last name was Watson.
Eight new images from Wrath of the Titans. Plus, two new tv spots.
In the pilot for Green Arrow, Cat Grant will be played by Keri Lynn Pratt.
A special announcement from Rifftrax.
A collection of Deadpool Corps busts
New tv trailer for Brave.
SFX interviews Being Human’s Craig Roberts. There are minor spoilers.
Dark Shadows cover art for the latest Famous Monsters of Filmland and Horrorhound.
Amber Benson has joined an upcoming Big Finish Dark Shadows release. She will be the voice of Judith Collins.
Remembering Dan Curtis’ version of Dracula.
oldschoolfic is taking sign-ups until tomorrow. Eligible fandoms include: Highlander, Stargate, Angel, Buffy, Charmed, Firefly, Farscape, Xena, Forever Knight, and several others.
Nate Bellegarde’s redesign of the original five X-Men.
Tales From Development Hell: Darren Aronofsky’s Batman: Year One, starring Clint Eastwood.
The latest TV Guide has the cast of this season’s Dancing With The Stars. They include: Melissa Gilbert, Jack Wagner, Gavin DeGraw, Donald Driver, Roshon Fegan, Katherine Jenkins, William Levy, Maria Menounos, Martina Navratilova, Sherri Sheperd, and Jaleel White. And, according to this, Gladys Knight. I almost want to watch, just to see how Katherine Jenkins or Jaleel White manage. But since Sherri’s involved, I’ll avoid at all costs.
