Well, That Was Weird
For about 45 minutes, the sky was the weirdest hue. Extremely bright orange/red, as though there was a massive fireball nearby. If you've seen Night of the Comet, it looked exactly like that. Dad located an old digital camera, but it refused to show up on that.
If the sky is green, that's a sign of hail. I'm really not sure what this was, but it definitely wasn't a normal sunset. It cleared up five minutes ago, and the sky was blue again.
And then all the dogs in the neighborhood started howling for two minutes.
(Mom jokingly blamed Nellie, especially after a glitch somehow caused Nellie's porchlight to go on for the length of time this occurred, without anyone touching it.)
ETA: Huh. It was mentioned on the local news, since they're very close to where we are. A reporter said she tried to take pictures, but it just wouldn't show up for her camera phone, or her regular camera.
