I saw this on apocalypsos’ journal, and just had to share. The Highlander fans on my friends list that don’t already have her friended should like this. I was watching The Darkness--the scene when Richie and Tessa are shot to death, specifically--and did I just miss it, or did the Sci-Fi Channel cut the moment where Richie gasps back to life? Because Duncan is sitting there near Tessa, you cut to a commercial break, and then after that you see him sitting in the antique store, as Dust in the Wind plays.

That means they're airing the edited versions that aired on TNT a long time ago -- the ones with the "you cut what where??" edits. :-)

I might have this wrong, but I think I remember someone asking this question, and being told that the scene you're thinking of was not cut, since it wasn't a scene from *this episode* but rather a flashback to this situation in an episode further down the line.

Does this make any sense?

The little extra scene in the flashback to the events in "The Darkness," when we see Richie waking up and Duncan telling him that he was always immortal, wasn't part of the original footage for "The Darkness." It was filmed during "Counterfeit," while they had Alexandra Vandernoot handy, but wasn't used for that episode.

Oh, that makes sense, then. Long ago, when I first got interested in the show, and started buying VHS tapes (a few weeks before USA started doing marathons) the first one I bought was Counterfeit parts 1 and 2 and that one. So that was my first exposure to the scene, and explains that.

It was also my first exposure to Tessa (or just her copy), so at first I assumed she was evil until I got around to seeing season 1.

Definitely makes sense. As I told beccaelizabeth further down, that other one (Counterfeit parts 1 and 2) was my first exposure to that scene years ago, so that's probably why I thought it was there.
