It would appear that Julia Hoffman will be an alcoholic in the new Dark Shadows. At least, if Helena Bonham Carter’s interview with MTV News on the red carpet is correct.

Rob Samsel has passed away suddenly at the age of 46. May he rest in peace. He was a staff writer and editor for Wizard Magazine back in the 90’s.

So I have a phobia of birds anyway and I made the mistake of looking at that cracked article about the crows and now... Cant sleep. Crows will eat me. Can't sleep. Crows will eat me.

The only theory anyone's been able to come up with is that maybe because she needs alcohol she would then better understand what Barnabas goes through with his own desperate physical need for blood.

Julia didn't rush to the decanter of brandy on the mantel more than anyone else in the show. It was all they could drink in that house.

I've also read reports that people behind the scenes who have read the script believe it to be very funny. Which just doesn't sound right.

No, that doesn't. It would be a grave mistake to camp it up on purpose if that's what they're trying to do. It already had an element of camp creeping into it --- that was part of the fun of the original show --- but it they are trying to play it overblown on purpose, it will just come across as stupid.
