They're gone now...
Aug. 11th, 2004 02:45 pmThose 4 molars are gone. I'm still slightly out of it, so ignore anything that is misspelled. I'm only going to be here for a few minutes, and then I have to lay down again.
When my mom and I went, my dad decided to tag along. When I first got there, I had to fill out 6 pages worth of paperwork. First, they did X-Rays. Then, since I wanted to be knocked out they did an IV of drugs. I can't remember what it was.
They kept trying to find a vein, and couldn't. Eventually, they found one in my right arm. Before he found it, though, the dentist kept tapping my arm to find a vein. He started slapping my hand, trying to find one there, and finally said: "Sorry about the hand spanking."
He eventually got a vein, and turned on the IV. He turned to my parents, and said "Any questions before anything happens? No? Rachel, do you have any questions? Rachel? Hello? Rachel?" I had been knocked out within 40 seconds. Apparently, it only took 15 minutes to get the teeth out. When I got up to leave, I was very shaky and out of it. Mom and Dad had to hold me up.
I got to the car, and then started feeling weird. I opened the door and started throwing up. It was yellow---apparently that was the medicine in the IV.
I laid down for a few hours, and now I'm feeling a little bit better.
At the moment, I have to have cotton in my mouth to stop the bleeding. I have to take antibiotics for the next week, too.
I have no memory of anything, from the time the IV started, to the time I woke up. And I didn't get to keep the teeth, either.
I'm going back to bed now.
