Advice? Anyone?

The refrigerator in the kitchen has, as of now, lasted 31 years. For those keeping track, it's older than I am. The only time it ever needed repairs was on 9/11, when it briefly shorted out. (Dad fixed it in between watching news reports of the madness.)

Anyway, Mom has decided that we need to find a new one before our current one dies. Of course, going by how it is now it might outlive us all. However, since she hasn't shopped around for one in 31 years, she doesn't know which ones need the fewer repairs, and last the longest.

Does anyone on my friends list have any advice? From what we can tell, this one was made in the USA. Anyone know if anything is still made here, and not in China? She believes the store that sold it 31 years ago went out of business.

Amusing sidenote: Mom found the warranty and it says the fridge should only last 1 year. I guess they don't build them like this anymore. Heh.
