RIP Dr. Kroger
Apr. 10th, 2008 01:00 pmFor the Who fans on my friends list, what Eighth Doctor related novels (or any Who novels anyway) would you recommend? For the Eighth Doctor, I’ve found Seeing I (which I’ve read and loved), and Vampire Science. For the other Doctors—well, mostly Seventh—I’ve managed to track down (via Ebay) The Left-Handed Hummingbird (loved it), The Face of the Enemy (haven’t read it yet), Matrix (loved it), and Prime Time (loved it).
I tend to enjoy novels where the Doctor ends up imprisoned (Seeing I) or possessed (Left Handed Hummingbird) or just messed up (Matrix—where he ends up fighting the Valeyard and dealing with amnesia) in general. Or where the Master or Valeyard pop up.
And in horrible news, the actor that plays Dr. Kroger on Monk--Stanley Kamel—has died of a heart attack. I found out via
settiai’s post about it, as well as
kradical’s post. He was 65. May he rest in peace. He was fantastic as Dr. Kroger. According to IMDB, he was also on TNG for the episode Where No One Has Gone Before.
