Fannish Items of Interest

Len Wein (creator of several X-Men characters, such as Wolverine and Storm) has apparently lost his house in a fire. Everyone in the family made it out safely, except for their puppy.

I know some people on my friends list like Kings—unfortunately, it seems like it was canceled.

ABC Family is doing a remake of 10 Things I Hate About You.

In other news, a neighbor managed to rent some machinery and (along with his own chainsaw) is going from house to house and tearing out the stumps that were left after professionals chopped down the trees that were ruined by the ice storm. He’s doing it for free, apparently. He finished the neighbor’s stump this morning, and now he’s working on ours--and tearing the roots out of the ground, too. This is the same man that loaned us his heater when we nearly froze to death during the ice storm. The same man that also helped take a chainsaw to the limbs that were covering another neighbor’s yard.

My first thought was Gallifrey. A couple other options would be either Hestia (in keeping with mythology names like Mars, Pluto, and Venus) or Discworld.

In other news, I found this at blognewsarama. A book shelf shapped like a word bubble in a comic book. Unique is all I can say.
