Les Lye has passed away today, at the age of 84. For those that aren’t sure who that is, you might know him from his roles in You Can’t Do That On Television. He played (among other characters) Barth—the cook who always made everyone sick from food poisoning. May he rest in peace.

Here’s a funny AfterElton recap of Torchwood: Day Four, apparently in the style of Facebook. For those that are interested in something lighter after Torchwood, Doctor Who: Planet of the Dead special airs Sunday.

Five Non-Horror Gems From The Mind of Sam Raimi.

Here’s a working link to Tim Burton’s Alice in Wonderland trailer. If it gets posted to Youtube, then it’s usually removed by Disney within a short period of time. I’ve followed at least three links where that’s happened.

Tim Burton confirms Dark Shadows should be his next project.

In other news, Dad had a question about an insurance policy, but the guy wasn’t there. Dad said, and I quote, “he left a message that he was going to a place in San Diego called Comic Con.”

After my automatic response of "TAKE ME WITH YOU!", a bit of explanation ensued since Dad had thought it was just a little place with a few comics on a table--an explanation which included me showing him a discussion of it on G4 (a channel) and Io9 (the site), and he’s decided that we may never hear from that man again. That guy could get hopelessly lost in the place. Oh, and geeks are kind of scary to him now--he decided that after I told him what a nightmare things would be for RTD. *laughs*
