The Cinema Snob reviewed Too Smart For Strangers. Anyone else remember that one? It was hosted by the Winnie the Pooh characters. They showed this on the first day of Kindergarten …when everyone is a stranger. That’s one way to confuse a kid. They also showed it every day for a week of classes in 1st grade.

Anthony Stewart Head discusses a few childhood memories.

A detailed chart of the Doctor and River’s time-crossed relationship.

An update on the situation here—apparently, they blew up a portion of the levee at Cairo around 10 PM last night. You could feel the vibrations as far away as portions of the city here. Someone reported thinking it was a tremor from an earthquake, while another thought it was thunder. They were due to blow up the next portion at 1 AM, but that came and went with nothing. The next time they were going to was 8 AM, but that came and went with nothing as well. I believe they are just trying to see how much this section being gone will help. Last I heard, the water there was down by about 3 feet.

Currently, here in Paducah at least, the rain has stopped and the sun is out.

Meanwhile, the bridge everyone travels over to get to Eddyville so we can go to the outlet mall? The one I’ve said is several miles down before you hit the water, when things are normal? Well, they’ve now reported that the water is so high there, it is nearing going over the bridge, with a few inches to spare before that happens. That...is insane.

Beneath the cut, since it's a little long. )

I love this. They just said on the radio they had good news and bad news for Metropolis. "The bad news is The Weather Channel is here. The good news is, it's not Jim Cantore. Because...we don't ever want you back! You can't come back!" Then, it went into that song I've linked to before. At least everyone's kept a sense of humor about it all?

ETA 2: Okay, somewhere a little after 1 PM, they blew the next part of the levee. I heard it in my room.
