Rest In Peace, Della Reese…
Nov. 20th, 2017 02:20 pmDella Reese passed away on Sunday, at the age of 86. May she rest in peace. She is, perhaps, most famous for her role as Tess on Touched By An Angel. I basically avoided that series (and still do, really, since I think it’s on Me-TV on the weekend) with all my might, so while I remember her from endless promos for the show, I know her more for an episode of Designing Women. She played Mrs. Toussant.
Meanwhile, on the opposite side when it comes to another death that made headlines today, I just want to take a moment to say that I would rather remember Sharon Tate than the man who caused her life to be taken, and the lives of eight others. (ETA: And from Dread Central, who wrote about it better than I ever could have: These Are The Victims Of His Murderous Cult.)
I will be perusing Sharon Tate’s small catalogue of films, and paying him no further thought. First up: I will be watching Dance of the Vampires, aka The Fearless Vampire Killers (1967), which I loved when I once saw it on TNT’s Monstervision. Eventually, I might be locating Eye of the Devil (1966).
