Gas Leak

We had a bit of an incident today. Around 7:20 this morning, Mom kept saying she thought she smelled something. I couldn't smell anything due to allergies, and Dad wasn't sure if he could, since he has a bad nose. Finally, he checked the water heater and thought he might smell something.

After a lot more sniffing around, it was decided it was likely gas. Dad got in touch with the gas company a little after 8, (since things had been fine until the gas meter guy came to check things the other day) and they said that everyone should wait to turn anything on that wasn't already on. Just in case it set off a spark and blew us all up, I presume.

It only took them a little over an hour to get here, because they thought it was probably worse than it was. They apparently assumed we were about to explode at any second.

Things are fixed now, and it turned out to be the heater. Something just barely came unscrewed or something, and was slowly seeping gas out.

It wasn't nearly as much as the gas company assumed, and I was finally given the okay to turn the computer back on.

Since it seems a lot of people are leaving in light of the latest Livejournal mess, (which I'm trying to get caught up on right now) I want everyone to know that I probably won't be leaving. If anyone on my friends list does leave LJ, however, I'm catnshadows on GJ, and calliopes_pen over at Insanejournal.
