I remembered a bit more about that catalog I'm looking for--the one from a few posts back. The name of the magazine was something like 1-800-Science Fiction, but the last part probably wasn't Science Fiction, it was something else. The 1-800 part was definitely there, though, since it was part of the name of the catalog.

I can't remember the last half of the title, but can anyone else figure it out?

Taken from [profile] magikfanfic and [personal profile] wanderlustlover.

Name a character you think I ought to play and I'll talk to you about why I would or wouldn't.

And another one, from [profile] bellehiver

Name a character that you know I write or have written (or RP or have RPed), and I’ll tell you:
a. What initially prompted me to like the character enough to write about him/her.
b. One of his/her best traits.
c. One of his/her worst traits.
d. How easy/difficult I find it to write the character.
e. The story/chapter/paragraph/phrase where I feel that I truly captured the character.
f. My plans (if any) to write the character in the near future.

The day has been odd. First, a recap: Every so often Dad and my sister have to head down to Memphis for an eye doctor's appointment. Her appointment for those who wonder.

They headed down there today, while Mom and I went out to eat. Now, around 2:30 (I think it was then) Dad called to say that he tried to start the van after leaving a restaurant for lunch (while they were in Memphis) and it wouldn't start.

Good news? An elderly couple brought a jumper cable over to them and tried to get the car to start.

Bad news? Didn't work.

Good news? They made them get in their car, and drove them to the doctor's office themselves. Shockingly, they didn't murder them or anything.

Bad news? Dad couldn't find his cell phone--we realized it's here at home, and not with him. Currently, they're stranded at the doctor's office, and he's going to try to get a tow truck to get the van repaired. They might be forced to stay in a motel for tonight--he's not sure. A cab is out of the question since it's a 4 hour trip home, with a lot of luggage.

Good news? Well...at least they packed extra clothes?

On another topic, some good news. Over at TV Links, the 1996 tv movie of Doctor Who was just uploaded in the movie section, after I requested it. And since I'm not actually linking to the entry, I won't lock this post.

ETA: I just remembered that when Mom, Dad, and I went down to Eddyville the other day, Dad said how much he loved Mom's car, since it drove so smoothly. Just like the van, he said. The van never had any problems, he said. Wonderful driving and always worked. I told him not to say that because something would happen. Looks like I was right.

ETA 2: As of 6:30 PM, Dad called back. Apparently, a male nurse drove them back to the van and told them that there was a garage 1 mile from where they were. They went to the garage, and found out that it was a dead battery. They got a new one, and should be able to make it back sometime tonight.
