Ficathons

A few people on my friends list have been celebrating the number of years they have been on LJ. Out of curiosity, I checked my user info page. On the 10th of next month, I will have been on LJ for 4 years.

In ficathon related news, I’ve been writing the outline for my spook_me ficathon story. I’ll probably start writing over the weekend. It’s Doctor Who, set probably during season 4, since Donna is the companion--and the prompt will be a ghost since you’re allowed to change it. Since I couldn’t think of a way to bring in a cyborg for the setting, I made it that. Didn’t want to bring in a Cyberman or Dalek, since it wouldn’t have worked.

And since I'll be writing something with Donna in it, I just realized that I need to find an icon that somehow involves her. I'll start hunting for one later.

I also just received my assignment for hlh_shortcuts. I won’t say what it is, since that’s not allowed--but it seems like a good one. And I think I have a partial idea for it so far.

Really Bad Movie Countdown

Over at mst3k (this post, for those that want to read the comments) someone linked to a Video Google upload of The 50 Worst Movies Ever Made. If anyone wants to watch it, you can find it here. There are some you’ve heard of, like Howard the Duck. Some I’ve never heard of, and some made it onto Mystery Science Theatre 3000. As an example of the latter, they’ve listed The Creeping Terror.

If this list had been made later, I think Highlander: The Source could fit in there somewhere. Of course, it doesn’t look like there’s anything after the 1980’s, so there’s nothing like Crossroads or Gigli. I'm shocked Manos isn't listed.
