This regards the new flagging feature. I’ve read everything about it on my friends list about this new feature, and for those that don’t want to wade through all 23 pages (as of the last count) of comments at [profile] lj_biz, [profile] fandom_me wrote up a great summary here, about the concerns and aspects of the feature.

Basically, I won’t be flagging anything in my journal—far as I can remember, there’s nothing explicit. The most I will ever do is lock a post, and post warnings if a story goes into racy territory.

On a lighter note, I just thought I would point out a [profile] hl_recs for a great Highlander story. All the rotten Highlander movies were just bad dreams. It’s called Escape Corridor, and was written by Leslie Fish. You can find the rec here, and the fanfic itself here.

And now, a meme taken from [profile] fandom_me:
If you could have me write absolutely anything - genre, fandom, character, rating, whatever - if I'm familiar with it or not, what would it be?

And from [profile] jacqui_hw:

Give me two characters from different fandoms you know I'm familiar with, and I'll give you a dialogue happening between the two of them. Without justifying how the crossover would work, how their worlds clashed, or how they could even meet each other. Just a silly crossover conversation with no backstory, for fun.

And you can still add people for the meme in the previous post, here. I’ve already done my personal canon for Rose, Tara, and Inara.

[personal profile] ausmac and [personal profile] mtgat have mentioned this, so I just thought I would spread the word to others on my friends list. When the flagging thing was put into place, apparently everyone’s settings for their journals were changed. It automatically has filters in place to screen out any adult material on your friends list.

If you want to change this, go to your settings page, which is located here. Scroll down to the bottom of the page, and look for a pull down menu in the Adult Content Options. In the section that says Viewing Adult Content, make sure it isn’t on Collapse explicit material, or adult material. Make sure it’s on Do Not Collapse. That should fix everything.

Edit: Thanks to Mr. or Ms. Anonymous for pointing out another bit in there. There is a section that says "Safe Search Filtering: You can choose to filter mature or offensive content out of search results." When you get to that section, be sure to have it set on "Do Not Filter My Results."
