I just thought my friends list might like to know about some information I found.
This was found out thanks to
yendi: Apparently, Facebook released a bit of Spyware (called Beacon) into their system last week, which compiles all the information of one’s internet purchases, and where they go and what they do—even if you opt out. And LJ is part of it, since it’s a partner site. Go to
yendi’s post for more details. This apparently applies to those who aren’t associated (like me) with Facebook in any way. If you’re confused (as I was) read the comments to that post I linked to. It should explain everything.
ETA: Ah, just got through all the comments myself. Facebook users can turn off Beacon. Firefox users can also do so.
On a completely different topic, I'm still in need of a beta reader for when I complete my OT3 fanfic.
