Going by what Squeaky said in his journal about ads, it might have been Insanejournal that caused the pop-ups, rather than my assumption of Fanfiction.net. There’s really no way to be completely certain now, but a few people in this thread in that post mention the same problems. They link to a forum that should help with getting rid of things, so I’ll check on that later. While I have a regular permanent account there, I also have a few others that are free accounts that I’ve visited lately, where something might have happened.
In other news, looks like Livejournal is making a few good changes to their policy for once. I wouldn’t have heard about this if a few people on my friends list hadn’t linked to it, as I’m not a member of
lj_policy.
And I actually forgot about this for a while what with the pop-up war and all, but here’s that Catseye PB poll, if people would please vote in that for me. I’ll wait on filling out the entire application for Catseye over at X-Journal until things settle on the pop-up/Trojan front, just in case I lose anything.
