Not using this icon from being angry or anything--just because I was amused by it, and realized I should have used it when the tree almost hit my room a couple weeks ago. Heh.

The wind is currently 35 mph outside, and without trees let’s just say it’s a very interesting experience. The garbage cans (big, heavy ones) keep blowing away, too. The power’s been flickering every so often. Good news is that the wind should be down to 10-15 mph by nightfall. Eventually, when we have the time, we’ll trying to get a generator that’s done by natural gas.

In related news, thanks to the wind causing a few more branches to fall from a seriously dead tree across the street, we’ve discovered something funny. At the top—impaled on a branch—is a soccer ball. It’s probably been up there since last year, at the very least. Maybe longer. Dad tried to take a picture of it, but couldn’t get a good shot.

And now, a meme, taken from [personal profile] lizbee:

It's inevitable that as we read each others journals we create mental pictures of each other. Reply to this post with a picture of the person you picture (or would picture) when you read my journal, then post this on your own journal to find out who your friends see when they read about your life.

Two rules:
1) the person must be in the movies or on tv (but doesn't have to be an actor/actress). The person can be specific to a role or character or just the person.
2) Post a picture. (Or not..)

Remember what I said about it not being too windy in the previous post, and would only get up to 35 mph? Well, I was wrong--it hit 63 mph for a few hours there. According to the news, it hasn’t been that windy since the remnants of Hurricane Ike hit last summer. Down near Kentucky Oaks Mall, there was something being built--the winds caused all the wooden structure that had been put up to just fall over. The person building doesn’t plan to start over again until the summer.

And, from somewhere, a tree branch flew by when I was standing at the door. Where it came from, I don't know--it still had leaves on it, so it was from a long ways away. Definitely not our street.
