This is just for whoever gets assigned me in Yuletide--everyone else can ignore it. As it’s not that long, I didn’t think it needed to be behind an LJ cut. First of all, thank you for signing up. As you should be able to tell from the prompts, I’m really not too picky about what story I receive.
My requests:
-Ghostbusters
I seem to simply love it when Peter or anyone else on the team gets possessed. What if it wasn’t Louis who managed to get possessed by Vinz Clortho? What if Peter did? What would Egon do, and how would the possessed Peter be dealt with (or prevented from doing his duty) during the course of the first movie? Would Vinz be more vicious if he was in Peter? How would things be different without him helping them save the world in the battle with Gozer?
If you choose an entirely new direction for the movie with just a tiny nugget of my original idea, that's great, too. Go as dark or light as need be. Include Dana or Louis if you can, be it on the sidelines or part of the action, but that's not a must.
Ghostbusters is one of my favorite movies, but I don’t want to put you under any pressure. With the Ghostbusters story, it can be as dark, twisted, or as funny as you wish. If you don't want to set it during the first movie, I'm fine with it being set during or after the second movie. Deal with the aftermath of Vigo's possession of Ray or another moment during the movie, if you like.
-League of Extraordinary Gentlemen: America 1988 (comic)
What extraordinary event brought all of these people together? Was it something Doc did to the time stream during the movies? Was there a zombie apocalypse or something equally weird that only their talents could solve? A wish gone wrong? Or did this strange assortment of people just randomly bump into each other in the street? It certainly wouldn't have been in a bar, with Doc's inability to hold his liquor.
Make it as funny or dark as you wish. I’m not picky when it comes to this one, just seriously intrigued by that April Fool’s bit of artwork.
-The Librarian series of movies
In The Librarian: Return to King Solomon’s Mine, we saw a glimpse of Pan’s flute. What’s the story behind them acquiring it? It can be as bizarre, or funny as you wish.
You can make it as corny and out there as the movies, and I’ll love it--if you come up with a better idea than Pan's flute and would rather use whatever that is, go for it. I’m just desperate to see any fanfic at all in this fandom. If you want to do something set after or during the third movie, that's fine, too.
-Dark Shadows (1966)
During the Leviathan storyline, Barnabas hit Quentin with his car. I've always wondered--at what point after he was released from his coffin, did someone teach him how to drive? Introduce him to modern day things? I want to see how that went.
Make it as funny as you wish, with whatever serious bits you feel like adding. Maybe have Julia or Willie nervously taking turns to help him get introduced to regular cars? Dealing with his antique ideas. It would be interesting if someone else in the family (like Roger) finally happened to pay attention to what was going on, and wonder just why he would need driving lessons at his age.
We know that he was able to drive by the time of the Adam storyline, because he had a car wreck then, too. Come to think of it, was Barnabas getting into accidents a regular occurrence in Collinwood?
Go as wild as you wish with this one. If you want to include hints of Barnabas/Julia, I’m good with it. It’s one of the pairings I enjoy in this fandom, but I haven’t read much of it in the last few years. I was introduced to the series when it reaired on the Sci-Fi Channel back in the 90’s, and started out with the Leviathan storyline.
My likes and dislikes, copied from a Yuletide letter I wrote a few years back: I’m fine with fanfic that’s a bit of a darker tone, so long as it doesn’t go into PWP, BDSM, rape, or incest territories. I love fanfic with snark and humor.
I am equally fine with gen, het, or slash, as long as it isn’t what I mentioned above. If you want to do anything pairing free, that is fine with me. For me, the characterization is the most important aspect of the story, and it doesn’t matter whether it’s humor or angst or somewhere in between--so just do your best. Use your own judgment for what works from the prompts I’ve provided, and I’m sure I’ll love it.
Again I say thank you for writing something for me, whoever you are.
