For those interested, you can watch footage of a flashmob in Bristol, where people pretended to be Jedis and fought with lightsabers for a while. If it were the Doctor Who fandom trying to do something like that, I’m not sure what everyone could do. Dress like the Daleks or various Doctors and companions, and stage a fake battle? Waving sonic screwdrivers at them? (Part of me wants to see that)

The Five Most Disturbing X-Men Love Affairs.

There’s a new promo pic for the next season of Doctor Who—and a new trailer should pop up this Saturday.

Thanks to Io9, I have now heard Doctor In Distress. Yes, some of the singing is bad--but it’s not quite as bad as some American Idol auditions I’ve seen. I spotted Anthony Ainley (almost didn’t, because of his lack of beard) in the music video—possibly Colin Baker. I don’t know enough about Classic Who to really recognize anyone else. I’m working on fixing that, though.

[personal profile] crazydiamondsue has compiled a massive list of Buffy meta. A few things I wrote actually ended up on it. I’m mildly horrified and wanting to hide, yet happy at the same time. Of mine, they’ve collected an essay on Tara and another for Willow for [profile] idol_reflection, and my Willow/Tara and Angel/Darla [community profile] ship_manifesto essays. Pretty much all the images in the essays are broken these days, because they happened to be hosted on either Greatestjournal or another image host that vanished. If they were including Firefly, my Wash/Zoe essay would have been added, and an essay I wrote about Inara.

Over at [profile] idol_reflection, [profile] torn_eledhwen posted an essay about Donna Noble.

Felicia Day posted a spoof music video called Do You Wanna Date My Avatar. Until now, I’ve never watched any of her videos from The Guild. I might do so soon.

I’ve just finished the signing up process for the Support Stacie ficathon. I signed up for writing either Doctor Who/Torchwood, or The Librarian or Merlin for whoever bids on me and wins.

Oh, and Merlin seems to be starting earlier tonight—at 6 PM CST, and then the season 1 finale is at 7 PM. This is due to the Miss Universe pageant being on at 8 PM, apparently.

For those that have access to it and are in the right area, (it apparently varies) Comcast On Demand has the first half of season 1 of Doctor Who. Unlike the airings on the Sci-Fi Channel, they are all uncut. Yesterday, I watched The Unquiet Dead--and apparently more was cut from the Sci-Fi Channel airings than I ever knew. I didn’t start downloading the uncut episodes until a few episodes into season 3, so I’ll be watching the episodes as they’re added.

There’s an interesting essay on the Tenth Doctor that was just written for [profile] idol_reflection--go here to read it.

From Funny or Die, you can watch The Ballad of GI Joe. Alan Tudyk is apparently in there somewhere, but I couldn’t recognize him. It’s probably only to those who actually know anything about GI Joe at all—unlike me. I only know one or two character’s names. Going by the cast list, the only other actors in there that I’ve heard of are Alexis Bledel (didn’t spot her) and Julianne Moore (saw her). Io9 posts about it here.

The latest “I’m a Marvel…and I’m a DC” can be seen here. This one is between Green Lantern and Deadpool.

You can watch the trailer for The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus here.

From Slashfilm, I’ve learned that apparently there’s going to be a remake of Red Dawn. The only reason I’ve ever heard of that movie is because of I Love The 80’s. Also from Slashfilm—apparently, there’s going be a movie based on the Viewmaster. Yes, the toy.

Tara (attempting a joke): You learn her source, and we'll introduce her to her insect reflection. (The gang stares blankly at her.) Um...that, that was funny... if you um, if you studied Taglarin mythic rights... and are a complete dork.
